English: In this movement entitled“Este Lugar” (Spanish for “This Place”), on the one hand, you have the migration from a place you know and love to a foreign land; and on the other, living in a place you know and love where foreigner have arrived and in turn threaten its survival. The difference is that the migration is that of people moving from place to place, but its the plants and trees that are the original inhabitants of “This Place.”
lyrics
Mirando de un valle lejano
vi esos cuerpos,
desplazados,
sin hogar.
Los hombres frotaban sus ojos,
en silencio,
sin saber a quien rezar.
Llegando a este lugar,
donde hay que enfrentar
tener que renacer.
Cansados de sus migraciones
casi muertos
no se dejan separar.
Luchando hasta el final
un árbol que aguantar
Eterna soledad
Después que esos seres se fueron,
en la noche,
vi a este valle despertar,
vi a plantas caminar,
y un árbol fue a rezar,
cantaba a este lugar, así…
English Title: This Place
I saw from this plain, distant valley,
all those those bodies,
all displaced,
without a home.
The men rubbed their eyes,
in stark silence,
didn’t know to who to pray.
Arriving at this place,
where one must find the strength
to face being born again.
Exhausted from endless migrations,
death in plain sight,
all had failed to split them apart.
They fought until the end
hands grasping onto trees,
Eternally forlorn
And once all those beings took to leaving,
in the night time,
then that valley soon awoke,
I saw plants stood and walked,
the old tree kneeled and prayed,
her song was for this place, like this….
